Julia Cameron called it an Artist Date: time set aside on purpose — not to produce anything, not to finish anything, just to go out and experience something interesting, beautiful, playful, or inspiring, and let it refill your own creative well. She wrote it as a solo practice. We think it's better with company.
Art 'n About is the Creation & Expression Collective's new monthly outing. One evening a month, we go out together to experience something creative happening right here in Happy Valley — an exhibit, a performance, a show, a making — chosen in support of, and in connection with, the artists and creative organizations in our own community. It's open to everyone. You do not need to be a member, an artist, or anything in particular.
For our first one, we're going to the Palmer.
